Alison Wonder-fu-land

What is not already to love about this girl? She's super talented, an intriguing performer, and still has time to make tea, and light incense in her zen inspired living room. Awesome!

Alison's debut remix, Sherlocks Daughter, is definitely one track to keep on your playlist. Her talent shines in the track's solid production, sharp synths and a stimulating build up. The energy of the song is comparable to Alison herself everytime she performs.

Make sure you check her out, this lady was born to entertain!

The XX

Laura here, decided to share some tunes that I've been listening to on high rotation and totally suitable for the dismal weather at the moment.

The xx are an alternative trio from London, featuring the dual lead vocals of Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim, and backed by Jamie Smith.

The three all connect with a shared love of dark, emotive 80s guitar sounds and the high-end sheen of American R&B. The xx have a very unique sound and the album consists of vocal duets, and call-and-answer effects that make a really beautiful, sweet and melancholy sound. Some of the tracks on the album, I felt, were a bit haunting but nonetheless, very enjoyable to listen to!

ESPERE - hope for haiti

we think everyone should be apart of this.. or make any kind of donation, as much or little as you can it all helps!! Salvos and Red cross are collecting donations otherwise come along for a good night at world bar........

The recent earthquake in Haiti has inspired the support of people all over the world, including Sydney’s DJs, promoters and punters…

Espere is about bringing people together for a common cause to prove that we can achieve much more as a group than we ever could as individuals. The man behind it all is Chris Lum in San Francisco, who was the man behind the tsunami appeal at YU a few years back (which not only raised 64k, but also went down as one of the biggest nights in Sydney dance music history!).

Through Chris, a series of co-ordinated events will take place around the globe on a SINGLE evening to raise money for the cause.

All artists will be donating their time, free of charge. So far, we have over 60 Sydney artists confirmed... A HELL OF A LINEUP FOR A HELL OF A NIGHT!!

thai and wine saturday night

so, 11:05pm saturday night and anna and I have just enjoyed a thai meal from stir crazy (highly recommend). We ate it under the Harbour Bridge with 2 bottles of wine which we seem to have already finished and now it comes to the decision-making time whether we should go out or write a blog. And so it seems the blog came out a winner.
Although listening to crazy p will definitely set up your mood to go out we're just not feeling it tonight... ya dig?
